

Virginia Elizabeth Gilbrook, of the Villages, Florida, passed away on March 9, 2025 after a short illness. Virginia was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 12, 1936 to her late parents, Michael and Mabel Levitsky. She attended school in Philadelphia, graduating from West Philadelphia High School in the spring of 1954. Upon graduation, Virginia enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served honorably until her discharge in 1956. During her tour of service she met and married her husband, a fellow marine, to whom she remained devoted until his passing in 2003. Virginia had a long and valued career in the fields of banking, government, and real estate, specializing in Tax and insurance. Virginia (Ginny) led an active and creative life. She had a huge love for Christmas, and decorating endlessly. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching crime tv, enjoyed quilting, ceramics, embroidery, and sewing in which she produced many intricate pieces that she loved to share with her friends, family, and grandchildren.
Virginia is predeceased by her loving husband Edward Gilbrook Sr.; sister, Michael (Penny) Strole; grandchildren, Richard and Michelle.
Virginia is survived by her children; Edward, Michael, Elizabeth, Susan, and Marjorie; Sister, Marilyn; Grandchildren, Michael Jr., Christine, Edward, Daniel, Amanda, Shannon, Whitney, and Jeremy; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her loving pets, Tina the Chihuahua Gilbrook, and Milton Tuxedo Gilbrook.
A visitation for Virginia will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 10:30AM to 11:30 AM at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Road in Wildwood. Interment and military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:00 PM.
