Was born on September 5, 1932 to Patrick and Naomi Madden in Lewistown, ID. He grew up in the Creston area and attended school and graduated from Creston High School in 1951. He attended WSU and graduated in 1957. He married Joycelyn Houger on December 12, 1954 in Creston, WA. The made their home in Creston where James farmed and raised cattle for many years. James and Joycelyn raised their three children on the farm in Creston. James passed away October 13, 2013 in Davenport, WA. He is survived by his wife Joycelyn Madden at the home, three children Patrick (and Lisa) Madden, Daniel (and Tracy) Madden and Shan Madden. His six grandchildren and six great grandchildren along with three sisters Normann Martinson, Janace Armistead and Jean Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Patrick and Naomi Madden. He attended Lake Roosevelt Bible Church and held various church offices, W.A.W.G., Toastmasters, Life member of the NRA, Creston Gun Club and assisted in the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved being on the farm. Bible reading was and important part of his life. But being with family is what was most important to him.
