Wilma M.

Wilma was born in 1938 to Jimmy and Loretta in Topeka, Kansas. She had three brothers David, Tommy and Anthony. She also had a twin sister Jackie.

Wilma attended a Christian Elementary School in Topeka then finished her education at Topeka High School.

Wilma moved to Haysville, Kansas in 1961 were she had various jobs before she became a teller at Haysville state bank. She was a teller there for 23 years.

Wilma had a sweet, sweet spirit. She was quiet, meek and loving. She always put others first over her own needs. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and taking walks.

But her greatest love and devotion was to her family. She taught us about God, Heaven and Jesus. She always encouraged us to go to church. It wasn’t always easy with a husband and six children to care for but she never complained.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Jimmy, her brothers David, Tommy and her twin sister Jackie and son Eddie.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Edgar; son Robert and his wife Sheila, daughter Robin, daughter Adele, daughter Estelle and her husband Jeff, son Eric and his wife Helen.

Wilma’s 15 grandchildren are Bobby Jr, Ben, Zachariah, Luke, Leah, James, Candice, Edgar Raymond the 4th, Emerald, Katie, Cory, Angie, Andrew, Jessica and Jordan.

Wilma’s 19 great grandchildren are Chloe, Noah, Leonidas, Cannon, Olivia, James Russell Jr., Ryan, Roxie, Alyssa, Shanna, Lucas, Ava, Nevaeh, Bristol, Cannon, Emmy, Blake, Freya and Braelynn.

A visitation for Wilma will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A graveside service will follow immediately after the funeral service.

The family has invited all to a reception that will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, 2209 E. Pawnee St., Wichita, KS 67211.
