Schell, William Charles; on Thursday, June 13, Bill Schell, loving husband, daddy and Papa, was called home. Born February 24th, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas where he graduated from Southeast high school, class of 1964, and then attended Wichita State University where he met his wife and love of his life for 52 years Carol (Denny) Schell. Bill's entrepreneurial spirit and love of sales resulted in a lifetime of many accomplishments including; his start at Ben Robinson Buick, moving into the General Manager position for Dick Price Lincoln Mercury, franchisee of Dollar-Rent-A-Car and top recruiter for management recruiters, Inc. He then spent three decades in agriculture sales management for Agronomics, Inc. and Interstate Farm Products. Integrity was the base of his business model no matter where that business led him. If you knew Bill, you knew his #1 priority was family and Papa was his most cherished name. Everything he did was for his family and his favorite hobbies revolved around supporting his grandchildren in their numerous activities, serving as a Diaconate for his beloved Hillside Christian Church, reading, discussing politics, tinkering on projects, watching football, KU and WSU basketball, dressing to the nines, gardening, grilling and lounging by his pool. On weekends, you would find him cruising Grand Lake, at the helm of Grand Legacy; cigarette between his lips, scotch and water in hand, surrounded by his family and friends. Blaring from the bridge would be the sounds of Jimmy, Frank, Louie and of course "I'm a Jayhawk". He greeted everyone with a smile and firm handshake, extended good times, fired big steaks, repeated stories and told bad jokes; but most of all, always made you feel at home. Those left to cherish his memories, his wife, Carol (Denny) Schell; daughters, Dana (Schell) Lonergan (Jason), Aimee (Schell) Cole (Joe); grandchildren, Cody, Harter, Cooper, Lexi, Canon and Connor Beer. Brother and sister-in-law Lee and Phyllis Schell; niece, Debbie Nordyke: cousins, Carston Johannsen (Peggy) of Leawood, Kansas, Cryn Johannsen of Washington D.C., Dick Paul and Steve Monroe of Wichita, KS. In addition, many extended family members and cherished friends. Preceded in death by his parents Lee and Alice (Paul) Schell, nephew Kent Schell and cousin Wayne Day. Papa leaves this world for eternal life with few regrets and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His generous spirit alongside his fun and loving ways leaves a legacy and reminder that he lived for his family and emulated Sinatra's mantra of doing things "My Way". R.I.P. Daddy, we love you. "if it's to be, it's up to me" - Bill Schell. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 2pm, Monday, June 17, at Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS.
