William "Bill" Eugene Hull was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 25, 1958, to Lafayette and Priscilla Hull, one of eight children in their loving family. Bill graduated from East Union High School in Afton, Iowa in 1976, and following his graduation, he joined the Air Force as an Aircraft Maintainer, beginning a remarkable journey of service.
Over the years, Bill dedicated a combined total of 26 years to the Air Force and the Kansas Air National Guard, ultimately retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2002. During his tenure with the Kansas Air National Guard, he served as a Maintainer for Civil Service at McConnell AFB, ensuring the reliability and readiness of aircraft. His responsibilities included maintaining various aircraft, including the B-1, F-4, and F-16, making significant contributions to aviation throughout his career.
After retiring from Civil Service, Bill joined Spirit Aerosystems as a quality inspector, contributing his expertise for a decade before retiring.
In 1982, Bill married Brenda Miller, and together they were blessed with five children: Tony, Timothy, Hannah, Brianna, and Lily. Their love and partnership endured for 17 years, until Brenda's untimely passing. In 2008, Bill found happiness once again when he married Donna, a joyous chapter in his life.
Bill was an active and cherished member of the Wichita community. He participated in numerous bowling leagues and showcased his skills as a first baseman in various community softball leagues. His enthusiasm for sports extended to his unwavering support for the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Bears, making him an ardent fan of Chicago sports.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents, Lafayette and Priscilla Hull, as well as his brothers, Steven and Ray Hull; and brother-in-law, Danny Neisemier. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Brenda Hull. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna Hull; siblings: Kevin Hull (Linda), Greg Hull (Laurie), Lynette Cose (Ed), Annie Gregory, and Lori McDonald (Rick); and a legacy will be carried forward by: his children, Rebecca Clinton (Kenneth), Jenny Merchand (Jesse), Tony Hull (Alisha), Timothy Hull, Hannah Durkee (Caleb), Brianna Dilley (Peter), and Lily. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Emerson, Harper, Theodor, Kinsley, Peter, and Brenda.
In memory of a life well-lived, William "Bill" Hull's legacy lives on, both in the hearts of those who knew him and in the indelible impact he made throughout his life of service and dedication.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. US-54 Highway, Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Countryside Christian Church, 1919 S. Rock Road, Wichita, Kansas. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in the Garden of Rose.
