Armstrong, Walter E., 74, of Wichita, Kansas passed away at home on Thursday May 18, 2017 in Wichita. Walter was born on November 4, 1942 in Wichita the son of Eugene and Grace (Bartlett) Armstrong. Walter and Dorothy Armstrong were united in marriage on September 3, 1988 in Wichita. Together they celebrated 27 years of marriage before her passing in 2015.Walter served in the United States Navy during Vietnam from 1962 to 1968. He was an active Mason and Shriner. Member of the American Legion Post 0058 in Wichita. He retired from Cessna in 2006 as a machinist. He loved fishing, camping, gardening, master griller, cooking, baking, avid reader, his dogs and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son, Michael D. Bunch, brother, Phil Armstrong. Survivors include his loving children, Dale Eugene Armstrong of Leon, KS, Jay Armstrong of Colorado, Kerry (Zana) Thomas, Tamatha Moreno, Terri (Clarence) Collins of Texas, Debra (Jerry Anderson) Langille, Karen Woodson, grandchildren, Chandra, Heather, Gavin, Brandie, Jordan, Shelcy, Jessica, Jacob, Caleb, Michael, Amber, Crystal, Josh, Seth and Zane, 25 great-grandchildren and siblings, Gail (Rudy) Garcia and Gloria (Randy). Visitation will be on Monday May 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 23, 2017 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Midian Shrine Temple, 130 N. Topeka St., Wichita, Kansas.
