Challis, Vera May (Luening), born July 26, 1922 in Wichita and a lifelong Wichita resident, passed away October 1, 2017. Former secretary of Farmers and Bakers Life Insurance and owner of Challis Real Estate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Will Luening and husband Gail Challis. Entombment was held at Lakeview Mausoleum in Wichita. Memorials have been established with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, Botanica Gardens and Kansas Humane Society.
