Velda "Tena" Conard

Velda "Tena" Conard, 71, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in Wichita. Tena was born the daughter of James and Ravie McMahan on April 8, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. Velda and Bret Conard were united in marriage for 28 years before his passing in 2021. Tena retired from Cessna Aircraft after many years. Tena loved spending time with friends and family. Her favorite pastime was playing the slots at the casino. She loved animals and had numerous dogs throughout her life. Tena and Bret enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Lou Kay Johnson, Bailey Bay McMahan, Melvin Clay McMahan. Survivors include her loving children, Jenifer (Larry) Carriker, Gregory (Renae) Jordan; siblings, Connie Rhea McMahan, Zelda Faye (John) Saranko, Rue Jay (Kathy) McMahan, Oma Dae "Ginger" (Don) Detwiler; grandchildren, Justin (Anna) Jordan, Nicholle Crabtree, Ian Crabtree, Cooper Allen Jordan, Samantha Carriker, Brayden Sears, 7 great-grandchildren and many extended family. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Sunday July 16, 2023 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 S. Hydraulic St., Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St., Wichita, KS 67219.
