Timothy Alan Shaner, 62, of Rose Hill, Kansas passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. He was born November 23, 1960, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the son of Warren Eugene and Loraine E. (Stuetterman) Shaner.
Tim attended Mehlville High School, and graduated with the class of 1979. Tim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Michele L. Edmonds on May 20, 2000. He was employed as a corrections officer with the Winfield Correctional Facility for the past 6 years, and prior served as a patrol officer for the Rose Hill Kansas Police Department.
Tim enjoyed doing different woodworking projects, shooting various firearms, reloading ammunition, but most importantly loved spending time with his family and his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his sister, Jan Wilson.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 23 years, Michele; his two children, Clint (April) Owens and Marci (Robert) Alcorn; his grandchildren, Emily, Mary, Colton, Catherine, Bridget, Isabel, Logan, Samuel, Bennett, Meredith, Coraline; nieces, Sarah Unruh and Anna Wessling; his mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Karen Edmonds; along with many friends and his fur babies.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, with a Funeral Service following at 9:30 a.m. both at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, Kansas, with interment following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory: Garden of Gospels, Lot 37B, Space 2L.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to the Greyhound Hall of Fame in memory of Tim, 407 South Buckeye Avenue, Abilene, Kansas, 67410.
