Shrank, Thomas L. "Tim", 63, entered into eternity on June 6, 2017. Thomas was born June 13, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas, to John Thomas and Marie Shrank. Thomas recently retired from WSU as a Postal Clearing Clerk; he enjoyed his work there and was well respected. Thomas was a retired Army Reserve Sargent, who was awarded the Twenty-Fourth Annual Philip A. Connelly Award for Best Field Mess, detailing his excellence in the Army Food Service. Thomas enjoyed spending his time cooking, training his beloved dog, Mollie Brown, tending his garden, and attending his Hosta Club. Above all else, he was a family man who was devoted to his beloved wife of 38 years, Gayla, and his extended family. He will be dearly missed. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Marjorie Sharp; and sister-in-law, Beverly Hodge. He is survived by wife; dogs; brothers, John (Karen) Shrank and their children: Jeff, Carrie, Julie, Trey and Bob, and Jim Shrank and niece, Meggan Shrank; sister-in-law, Rita (Sid) Rousseau and nephew, Tony Rousseau; niece, Megan Muzny; great niece, Michelle Young; and great nephew, Owen Muzny. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday June 16th, 2017 and his funeral service 10:00 a.m. Sat. June 17th, 2017 both at Resthaven Mortuary. Dignity Memorial Celebrant Cyndi Pearce officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Humane Society.
