

Isenbart, Sister Mary Cecil (Mary Alice), 87, was the third of nine children born to Cecil Joseph Isenbart and Edith Almira Hart Isenbart. She began life on her grandfather's homestead near Alva, Oklahoma on January 15, 1934 and entered eternal life January 5, 2022 in Marian Hall at the Wichita Center of the Congregation of St. Joseph in Wichita, Kansas. As a child she attended elementary school at Sacred Heart School in Alva, OK and St. Charles School, Stratton, CO. After completing high school at Stratton Public High School, in Stratton, CO, she entered the Congregation of St. Joseph at Mt. St. Mary's Convent January 25, 1953, receiving the habit July 26, 1953 and making final vows July 26, 1958. In 1964 she completed a B.S. in Education from St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS. Her professional life as a primary teacher took her to diocesan schools in the Diocese of Wichita, Eugene, OR, Paso Robles, CA, and Ponca City, OK until her retirement to the Wichita Center in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Bernard (Evelyn d), Leo (Linda), Mary Margaret (d infancy), Agnes Elizabeth (d infancy), Theresa Baylor (Robert d), Ruth Kimminau (Albert) and Cecilia Fox (Darrell d). She is survived by her brother Walter and his wife Angela, brother-in-law Albert Kimminau, and sister-in-law Linda Isenbart. Due to the continuing COVID pandemic, services for Sister Mary Cecil will be in private for the family and Sisters of St. Joseph.
