Shirley J. Ross

Shirley J Ross, age 86, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Shirley was born June 8, 1936 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Glenn Stewart and Nora (Williams) Stewart. Shirley was 2 years old when her mother remarried. She was raised by her step-father Bill Feaster who she considered as her father.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Campbell, brother Jim Feaster, and husband of 32 years, Robert “Bob” Ross.

Survived by her son, Duane (Jacque) Robbins, daughter, Denise (Bobby) Faught, step-son, Randy (Lois) Ross, grandchildren include, Danielle, Christopher, Travis, Morgan, Jared, James and 8 great grandchildren.

Shirley attended Southwestern College earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and received a Masters at Wichita State University in Early Childhood. She loved to teach and was very proud when she was inducted into to her college’s Educators Hall of Fame. Shirley was a very social person who enjoyed playing games, cards, reading, volunteering and was very active in her church. She also looked forward to going to Colorado each year spending time with the “Cabin Crew”. Following retirement, Shirley enjoyed tutoring, making ceramics and traveling throughout the United States and the world with her husband, Bob.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10 am, Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, KS.
