Williams, Sara Gene, 80, surrounded by her loving family and the peace of God went to be with the Lord Jesus on November 3, 2011. She will be missed and her life continually celebrated by her husband Roger; daughter Donna; sons Paul, Terry, and Russell; daughters-in-law Stacey, Christy, and Julie; grandchildren Allison, Heather, Dyann, Kris, April, Leslie, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Crystal, Corrie, Casey, Ben, Jared, Sara, Marie; great grandchildren Jessica, Kylie, Emma, Avery, Liam, and Remy. She was and is a woman of beauty, strength, and grace. To list her acts of service would fill up this newspaper. She cooked many meals for the hungry, rocked countless babies, served those who were sick, and offered her wonderful listening ear to the hurting. She lived and spoke the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her impact goes beyond time into eternity. Sara was born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana on November 17, 1930. She met Roger at a skating rink in Shreveport in 1949 and they have been inseparable ever since. She inspired, encouraged, and loved Roger for over 62 years. All who know Roger know that the real reason for his success has been his bride, Sara Gene. We, her grateful family, will remember and celebrate her legacy. We will not forget the sacrifices she has made nor will we falter in walking the path she has laid. “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’ Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:10,11, 25-31. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday at Resthaven Mortuary. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 7 at 1:00 pm at Olivet Baptist Church, 3440 West 13th Street, Wichita, Kansas.
