age 48, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Jay was born March 6, 1973 to Russell and Penelope Hancock.
He obtained his bachelors degree in criminal justice from Wichita State University. Afterwards, he started his career as an Intensive Supervision Officer for Sedgwick County for 17 years. In recent years he started his own handyman business called "Hanco Handyman Service". Jay was a perfectionist and a true craftsman. He was known for taking great pride in his work.
Jay loved riding his Harley and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Russell Hancock Sr.; dogs Marshall and Maddie.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories mother Penelope Hancock; siblings Jan (Ryan) Williams, John (Dana) Hancock; nephew Tyson Baker; nieces Robbi Klug, Tayler Akin, Lauren Akin, Mallory Hancock; 3 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew and beloved dog Jack.
Visitation Tuesday, December 21, 2021 6pm-8pm at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. US 54, Wichita, Ks 67209. Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 10am. First Baptist Church, 306 E. Ross, Clearwater, Ks 67026, following interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
