Russell was a good, kind man.  We had lots of fun pulling practical jokes on each other.  I will miss him.

I remember working with Russ many times during our field visits our meetings etc.  He was a person of character.  I have good memories of community corrections and Russell.  Prayers to the family as he left too early.  God bless Russell.

We will miss Jay as I know many people will. Such a good man. Jay recently did quite a lot of work on our home and we spent time sitting at our dining room table visiting about the old days. We both met Jay, respectively, through our courses of work 10-15 years ago and continued to keep in touch.  He later took our puppy in with loving arms when we could no longer house Jack, after finding out our daughter had severe allergic reactions to pet dander. We could not think of a better person to love Jack so dearly. And now, so grateful for Dana and John for taking him in.

It brings a smile to our faces to read about his handyman work as his house was always meticulous and a true reflection of his talent and pride. He was always dependable, whether it was for a family member or a friend. Loyal and caring. Our hearts ache for the Hancock family and loved ones. May you all find comfort in the special memories shared today, and always.

I am distraught that Jay left the world too soon.  He was such a kind, caring person.  I lucked out on him as a handyman since he was so much more.  He took pride in his work and his expertise made my life easier.  My condolences to his friends and family.

My deepest sympathies go to Jay's family and loved ones.  It was such a blessing to find him for jobs around my house, and such an absolute pleasure working with him.  If he didn't have an immediate answer for whatever problem I had, he'd think about it, and work at it until he came up with one.  He can probably truly be summed up by what he told me when he stopped by to help out with an emergency, while on his way to a WSU basketball game - "sometimes it just pays to be a nice guy".   He was always friendly, cheerful, and unfailingly honest.  This loss is a great one.  

I was so saddened to hear of Jay passing.  I didn't see him often but when I did he always made me laugh.  He was a good guy and will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers to the Hancock family.

We are so sorry for the loss of your brother.  Please know prayers are being said for your entire family.  

I extend my deepest sympathies to Jay's family. What a great loss of his earthly presence. He was a delightful handyman with a strong work ethic, friendly and generous spirit. Whether he was cleaning my gutters (not his favorite job!), installing my mailbox or helping me move furniture in preparation for new flooring, his Christian faith  was paramount in his relationships with others. He was one of the most honorable men and self-employed men of high integrity I have had the honor of knowing.   

We lost and great friend and handyman with Jay's passing.  He became part of our "extended" family"  over the years doing  a countless variety of repairs.  He came for emergencies more than once, and always had a story to tell and patience beyond words. He recounted stories of learning  from his dad.  As a Realtor, my clients always gave him  100% reviews of his professionalism and quality of work.  He spent many overtime hours  when needed.  Jay, I will miss the sound of your voice and the privilege of knowing you.  To your family,  I send condolences at this sad time.  He fought a hard battle and never lost his courage.

We are so saddened to hear of Jay’s passing today.  My husband I took an immediate liking to Jay when we first hired him to be our handyman a few years ago.  It was truly a blessing to us to have such an talented, honest, dependable and kind handyman.  He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
