Roger E. Quist

Roger Ernest Quist, age 83, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Roger was born to Ernest Richard Quist & Theresia Hildegard Walters Quist on February 2, 1939 In Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Minnesota and moved to Wichita to work with his brother at age 20. He was a concrete finisher employed by the Vollmer Construction company which later became Coonrod and Walz. He was very meticulous and well respected in his profession. RC Quist construction company was established in 1978 with his brother Robert (Bob) Quist. He worked until 2004 when he retired.

He was introduced to Linda Webb on a blind date with mutual friends in 1961. They were engaged at Christmas in 1962 and married in June of 1963 in Wichita.

Roger was known by his friends and family as "Goose" or "Grandpa Goose". He had a great sense of humor. His interests included vacationing with friends in Las Vegas and Laughlin, vintage/ classic cars especially fords, and watching golf and Nascar racing.

He will be greatly missed by those left behind his wife Linda of 58 years, daughter Lynette (Kevin) Callahan, son Darrin Quist, grandchildren; Hunter (Jessica) Jessup, Logan (Mary) Callahan, Mariah Quist, and Lauren Callahan, great-grandchildren; Bo, June, and Rose Jessup and Aden Callahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Hugh Dexter, and brothers Richard and Robert Quist.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209 with graveside to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
