Robin Lynn Wallace, age 58, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Robin was born on December 15, 1961 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Franklin and Leila Lynn (Kyle) Westerfield. Growing up in Mississippi her family had horses. Robin's horse, Playboy, was as feisty as she was. She attended and graduated from Hernando High School, MS. After high school graduation, Robin received her cosmetology license. At the age of 20, she had her first child, Donald Nix, and four years later she had Kristan Berg. Robin was a hardworking, single mother of two; working at night, going to school and raising her two children. They spent many summers at Cheney Lake with their extended family and friends, camping, boating, and fishing. Robin met her future husband in 1995 and they had two children, Kyle and Tyler Wallace. On December 31, 1998, she married James Wallace, in Angel Fire, NM. In 1999, she proudly received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wichita State University. Robin was a critical care nurse and helped open Select Specialty Hospital as a Charge Nurse. Robin and James hosted many family gatherings at their home. Robin loved her family and always enjoyed spending every weekend around their pool. In 2006, Robin chose to devote herself to care for their disabled son, Kyle, due to his growing needs.
She is survived by her father, Robert (Connie) Westerfield; husband, James Wallace; children, Donald (Courtney) Nix, Kristan Owings, Tyler Wallace, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Brayden, Evan, Kaylee, and Nicholas Owings, Brooklynn Nix; sisters, Belinda Westerfield and Dawn Westerfield, both of Wichita. Robin was preceded in death by her mother, Leila Westerfield; brother, Robert Westerfield, Jr.; son, Kyle Wallace; niece, Latrisha Miller. Visitation noon to 4 p.m. Friday, April 17, come and go; services will be held at Resthaven Mortuary on Saturday, April 18 with interment following in Resthaven Garden of Memory, Wichita.
