Rob was born on August 10, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Frank A. and Vera M. (McCorkle) Sharp.
He met his wife Linda at St. Francis Hospital while working as a security guard. He joined the Clearwater, Kansas Police Department after finishing at The Police Academy in 1989, and finished his career as Chief of Police in Garden Plain, retiring in 2021.
Rob was dedicated to law enforcement. He was quiet, humble, firm but always kind and professional. He leaves behind many brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
Rob and Linda moved to Clearwater in1982 and raised 3 children. He cherished his wife, kids and grandkids more than anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels with Linda from their front porch. He also enjoyed yard work, watching N.C.I.S. and old westerns on tv.
Preceding Rob in death were his parents, his brother Alan LaForte and his sister Vickie Cantrell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Linda, of their home in Clearwater, daughter Nichole Sharp of Salt Lake City, Utah, Amanda Sharp-Wroten and her husband Tim of Haysville, Katelyn Barry and her husband Brent of Wichita, and two grandchildren Colin and Harper. His sister Sheila Schultz of Wichita, and his brother Roy Sharp of Aurora, CO also survives him. All who knew him will sadly miss him.
