He was born March 10, 1955 in Wichita, KS to Kenneth and Phyla (Always) Stewart. He was a 1973 graduate of Est High School. His love of people, sense of humor and gift for communication made him a natural in sales. He worked at Apartment Search as Sales Director.
His position took him to Detroit where he met his wife of 30 years, Wendy. They eventually settled in Atlanta where they remained for 19 years. Richard will be fondly and lovingly remembered by everyone he met; everyone was a friend. His gentle soul was particularly drawn to children, animals and the disabled. At Christmas he loved to play Santa for children and the elderly. He volunteered at the animal shelter and was known to bring home a stray or three. A lover of hunting, he was always up for a good hog or pheasant hunt with family and friends. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and was known for his clan-colors cap.
Richard was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Phyla.
He leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his loving wife Wendy Stewart; beautiful daughters Sara (Grant) Williams; Katie (Matt) Oberle; wonderful sons Sean Stewart; Adam (Kelcie) Stewart; brothers Kenneth (Barb) Stewart of McDonough, GA; Donald (Diane) Stewart of Shawnee, KS; sister Diana (Andy) Alderette of Louisville, KY; adoring grandchildren Gabriella, Logan, Evelyn, Emerie, Preston, Taryn, Eliza; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
