He was born August 30th, 1934 in Conway, KS to Ermon W. Sr. and Theresa L. (Sims) Richards.
Ray was raised in Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He later attended Hutchinson, KS Business School. Ray worked in accounting after graduation for Chalmers - Borton Construction. He then continued his career at the Smoky Hill Air Force Missile Site in Salina, KS then moved to Wichita to work at Wichita Airforce Base. He continued in accounting with Teal Construction, Kibbe - Howard, and he retired in 2013 at Mennonite Housing after working 25 years.
Ray met Doris Ann Lafferty on a blind date at a basketball game, February 1st 1960. They then married April 14th, 1962. Ray and Doris attended Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Wichita KS.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ermon Jr. Gerald, Loren Dale "Cisco", Donald, Bob; and his sister, Donna.
Ray is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Holly (Tom) Jones, Mark (Debra) Richards, and grandson; Kyle Jones.
Services will be Sat. September 11th, 2021 at 3 P.M. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS.
