Randy was an entrepreneur throughout his life and was always searching for new opportunities. His first job in college turned into his first business when he purchased School and Park Supply. He went on to create many successful furniture stores in Wichita including Cherry Orchard and Home Accents. Randy operated concessions at college and local youth league sporting events, state fairs, and the Riverfest.
Randy was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the WSU Shockers. He was a longtime season ticket holder for the Cowboys and Shocker Men’s Basketball and was thrilled when he got to attend some games this season.
As a member of the Young Republicans in high school, Randy was Bob Dole’s personal driver when he visited Wichita.
Randy and Rosemary were looking forward to the near future when he would retire as a distributor for Peet’s Coffee so they could see America in their motor home.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Hight; sons, Collin (Sarah) Hayes, Corbin (Steven) Hayes, and stepson Tim (Karah) Hight; daughter, Natalie (Steve) Peters, and stepdaughter, Tiffany (Kent) Broeckelman; brother, Terry (Pam) Hayes; grandchildren, Allison, Gavin, Drew (Lauren), Cooper, and Campbell; and nephews, Scott (Heather) Hayes, and Adam (Nicole) Hayes
Due to COVID, a memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Randy loved his pups, Lexi and Barkley, and would have rescued all dogs in need if possible.
