Randall Steven Ebling, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his home after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. He was born February 2, 1956 in Saint Joseph, Missouri, the son of Donald Ebling, Sr. and Virginia Long.
Randy attended Benton High School in Saint Joseph, Missouri, where he graduated in 1974. In 1976, he joined the United States Air Force, where he was a sergeant, until he was discharged in 1980. Randy started at the City of Wichita in 1983, where he worked as a warrant officer for 37 years, where he became known as, "Officer Friendly".
Randy was united in marriage to Trina Cooper, in where he became a father to two children, Crissy and Tyler. Later, the two divorced, and Randy married Sandie Flewelling on July 19, 1997 at Eastside United Methodist Church in Newton, Kansas.
In his spare time, he and Sandie enjoyed purchasing homes to remodel and re-sale. Randy was always searching for bargains for their antique booth. During their marriage, they were very fortunate to go traveling together, including to Hawaii, England, and all over the United States. Randy will be forever missed for his warm heart, his kind personality and his long & funny phone calls.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Donald and Virginia; along with his brother, Donnie Jr.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 27 years, Sandie of the home; his daughter, Crissy (Zac) Brazill of Lafayette, Louisiana; his son, Tyler (Megan) Ebling of Lafayette, Louisiana; his sister, Ronda (PJ) Kovac of Saint Joseph, Missouri; his brother, Tommie Ebling of Saint Joseph, Missouri; his step-mother, Ann Ebling of Saint Joseph, Missouri; his grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Isla, and Austen; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2025; Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 North Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212.
