Paula moved to Wichita from Baxter Springs, Kansas at the age of nine years old when her father took a position as superintendent of schools in Planeview in 1953. She and her brother John grew up in the house their father built on Bellaire St. in southeast Wichita. Paula graduated from East High School in 1961 and later attended University of Wichita where her father was the director of financial aid.
As a child Paula loved to dance, play the piano and organ, and enjoyed time on her grandparents farm in Parsons, Kansas. She was a straight A student, fiercely independent young woman. As one of the top in her typing class at East, Paula started her career while still a senior in high school as an office assistant in the insurance industry.
On June 17, 1962 she married Norman Kent Noller and together they had two sons Martin and Michael.
As a single mom she sacrificed her college education to raise her two boys Martin and Michael in the house she purchased on Parkwood in the College Hill neighborhood. She then transitioned her career to full-time paralegal work with Kaplan, McMillan law firm where she worked for over 15 years.
On January 29,1977 she married Byron Lynn Herrington with his two sons Blake and Shay and together they had two sons Aaron and Matthew.
She retired from Kaplan, McMillan law firm in 1979 to raise her two youngest sons Aaron and Matthew. After they began elementary school she then went back to work as a bookkeeper for TGT Petroleum, where her husband Lynn was CEO. She also served as a treasurer for the Goddard PTO while her boys were in school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother John Chrisman, one son Matthew Herrington, and husband B. Lynn Herrington.
She leaves to cherish her memories 5 sons, Martin (Jeanmarie) Noller, Michael (Kimberly) Noller, Blake (Drucy) Herrington, Shay Herrington, and Aaron Herrington; 10 grandchildren, Alexa (Jacob) Jones, Aidan Noller, Dillon (Samantha) Noller, Keenan (Jennifer) Noller, Tristan Noller, Levi Herrington, Sarah Houser, Kit Houser, Tanner Herrington, and Emma Herrington; 2 great-grandchildren, Theodore Noller and Jameson Noller and many that she considered family.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Lord's Diner and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
