Patricia "Trish" Wade

Trish was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed by many. Trish loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren “to the moon and back” and, as a teacher for 39 years, loved her students each as her own. Trish had a BA in Education and was a reading specialist. She had an uncanny ability to spot the problems of her students and to devise ways to help them. Trish inspired the love of reading in her kids so much that they would ask to take books to recess. She enjoyed teaching science and took her students on field trips, adopted whales, hatched chickens and in many engaging ways brought the material to life. For Trish, teaching was more than a job, it was an avocation she was deeply devoted to. Trish enjoyed gardening as a hobby. She loved old fashion gardens and cultivated plants from her mother’s and grandmother’s gardens. Trish loved her pets and cared for them like they were part of the family. It is clear that love and caring were central characteristics of Trish’s makeup and enriched the lives of all she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Clydella Folkerts; grandparents, Arthur and Myrtle Lambert; brother, Leroy Folkerts; sister, Marjorie Folkerts. Trish is survived by her husband of 39 years, Russ Wade of the home; children, Jennifer Bezdek and Rob (Karen) Carlo both of Wichita, Kansas; brother, Bud Utz; brother-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Wade; grandchildren, Michael Bezdek, Adam Bezdek, Ashlynn Farrison, Ryan Bezdek, Bryce Bezdek, Drew Bezdek, Sandy Carlo, Jacob Carlo, Maggie Carlo, Max Carlo, Jordi Camfield, Devon Shunatona, and Caleb Shunatona; great grandchildren, Parker Bezdek, Alyiah McGowan, Ella Cuevas, Skyler Bezdek, Emmett Bezdek, Harper Bezdek, Mason Farrison, Noah Farrison, Aiden Farrison, Brooks Bezdek, Kairi Camfield, Dayson Camfield, and Axton Camfield; nieces, Dawn Colonna and Denise Miller; nephew, Kelly Utz; and cousin, Jim Lambert.

A come and go visitation will be available from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, Monday, August 9th, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Funeral service will be held 3:00PM, Tuesday, August 10th, in Resthaven's Chapel with burial following at Resthaven's Cemetery in the Garden Of The Lord's Prayer.
