Pamela is survived by her children, Shane, Don, Jennifer and Ashley; sisters, Patti, Donna and Shawn; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Caitlin, Gage, Kameron, Mollye, Delainie, Amelia, Aidan, Jackson, Jaxsen, Lela, Nate, Piper, Bennett, Annaliese, Liam, Layla, and Tabor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Patricia MacFarlane.
As a young girl, she had a great love of horses and had many adventures in different parts of the country as she grew up. Being in a military family she had the opportunity to live in many different places before settling back in Wichita, KS. She would become known as an extremely hardworking woman who prided herself on being independent and self-relying. Pamela persevered through many great challenges only to come out stronger on the other side. Her strength was admired by so many. She would go on to raise her four children instilling in them the importance of hard work and dedication to family and to serve others in need before self. Pamela’s ability to do this throughout her lifetime was unmatched and only possible through the giving spirit that lived within her heart.
Her impeccable work ethic led to her having great successes in her career, which was also dedicated to helping others through difficult times by helping them prepare for their futures and whatever may arise. She worked many years for SCI, including Resthaven Mortuary and Cemetery and later went on to become a well-respected insurance agent with American Senior Benefits, helping families not only with insurance needs, but with financial and retirement planning. Pamela had an uncanny ability to help others understand the importance of preparedness at all stages of life. She was incredibly loved by many of her clients who she got to know throughout the years and will be greatly missed by many of them.
Pamela would want everyone to know her love of Great Danes. Her five Great Danes, Celia, Maximus, Toby, Joey and her precious Scooters, were a huge part of her life. They were her companions and will undoubtedly miss the incredible love that she provided them. They brought her so much joy and she would want nothing but the best for them.
For all the love she gave to others, her love of God was nothing less than remarkable. She was steadfast in her faith and found comfort through scripture. As brave as she was in life with all of her experiences, she was even braver in her death. Knowing she was going to be with her Lord, she was not scared, she was ready, she was at peace. There is no final count of the number of lives she touched, or a way to measure how much she will be missed. In addition to that, we carry forward her strength, dedication to serving others, her unconditional love, and her bravery in life and death. That is her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pam's honor can be made to a Great Dane Rescue or Humane Society in your area. Wichita area Kansas Humane Society is 3313 N. Hillside St., Wichita, KS 67219.
