

Oscar Lee Moline, 91, loving husband, uncle, cousin, and faithful friend, transitioned to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from his residence in Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 16, 1932 in Graham, Texas, the son of Oscar T. and Earla (Vaughan) Moline.
Oscar received his BA Degree in Radio and TV Broadcasting from Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1954, then he was then drafted into the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Burton Island Icebreaker going from the Arctic Circle to the Panama Canal. After serving in the military, he received his BD Degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma in 1961. He was then ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1961, and maintained continuous standing.
Oscar was united in marriage to his loving wife, Marian Hawkins on August 18, 1963 in Woodsboro, Maryland. Oscar was a full-time, part-time and pulpit supply pastor in Kansas & Hawaii for many years. He was especially committed to working with youth in all of his pastorates. He was also a registered commodity broker for Clayton Brockage of Kansas City and Merrill Lynch of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a registered official referee for boys high school basketball & football. Oscar enjoyed playing in his church's baseball leagues in the positions of centerfield, manager, and catcher. He was an exemplary sports enthusiast at the height of 6' 6". He was a 20+ year active member of Central Community Church of Wichita, KS. His faith was the most important part of guiding his life, beginning with his parents guidance as career, pastor and wife. His most favorite times were sharing his favorite jokes, and humorous monologues with his family, friends, and classmates.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by: his wife, Marian of almost 60 years; twin sister, Miriam (David) Andrews; his brother-in-law, Dr. Daryl (Barbara) Hawkins; his sister-in-law, Catherine Hawkins Harrison (Andrew); along with many nieces, nephews, special cousins, Charles Vaughan (Claudine), David Vaughan (Susan), and friends.
Visitation/Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services in Wichita, Kansas.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, Kansas, with Pastor John Carney officiating.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Central Community Church Chapel in Wichita, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Central Community Church of Wichita, KS, or to the Disabled American Veterans' Association.
