Resthaven Mortuary & Gardens of Memory

Nellie Mae (Gingerich) Scott, 89, passed away September 27, 2020. She was born on December 15, 1930 to Carl & Lois (Sammons) Gingerich in Tioga, Colorado.

Nellie enjoyed being part of the neighborhood association when they had one, and was a proud member of the Riverwalk Church of Christ. She married J.B. Scott in 1966 in San Antonio, Texas. They had two daughters, and Nellie's greatest love was caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, studying history, writing, visiting, teaching Sunday School classes and photography. She volunteered at the Lord's Diner until her health forced her to quit.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Berniece Lackey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, J. B. Scott; daughters, Angelia (Allen) Sherertz of Wichita and Coetia Batarseh of Arkansas; sister, Shirley Warn of Wichita ; grandchildren, Stephanie Thrush, Scott Sherertz, and Rachel Sherertz; great-grandchildren Taytum and Aiden Thrush; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral, on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Riverwalk Church of Christ. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2020 at Riverwalk Church of Christ, officiated by Pastor Rick Cline. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
