Nancy Erwin DeYarmett, 81 of Lenexa and Wichita, KS died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 13, 2021. Nancy was born on February 14, 1940 to Helma and John Erwin, school teachers in Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alan Erwin, also of Tulsa. Nancy attended the University of Tulsa where she met the love of her life, Harry DeYarmett Jr. They married in 1960 and had one daughter, Deborah. Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a teaching certificate in 1962. Harry was in the Air Force and they moved several times before settling in Wichita, KS in 1965. They enjoyed the company of their close friends for many years and were very active in square dancing, boating and traveling. Nancy worked as a Secretary for an insurance agency for 15 years which she enjoyed. Harry preceded Nancy in death in 2003 and she remained in Wichita in the home that they built for the next 16 years. in 2019, Nancy moved to Lenexa to be closer to her daughter. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Deborah Stidham, son-in-law Dean Stidham, grandchildren, Dylan Stidham and his wife Jacqueline Stidham, Nick Stidham and his fiancee Mallory Trembly, Garry Stidham, Holly Stidham and Hanna Cavely.
The Celebration of Life and internment will be held at Resthaven on Friday, August 20 at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be given in her honor to the American Heart Association.
