Mother Mary Margaret of Jesus (Bussey), 81, Foundress of the Carmelite servants of Jesus Pierced, completed her earthly journey November 12, 2024 at the Catholic Care Center. Beloved spiritual mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mother Mary Margaret lived a life devoted to Jesus from her earliest years. After working as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, having heard within her heart a call to totally devote herself to the Love of her life, Jesus Christ, in 1993 she founded the Community of the Carmelite servants of Jesus Pierced. Mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2019 and entered the hidden life of the Catholic Care Center where she joyfully maintained her vows of fidelity and abandonment to Divine Providence. Preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Madonna Bussey; brother Joseph and sister Denise. Survived by her brothers, John (Joyce) of Parker, CO; James, sister Jean (Jerry) Blaney both of Wichita, KS; and Members of Carmelite servants of Jesus Pierced.
Rosary will be at 7:30pm, Wednesday, November 20; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 21, both at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3030 N. Amidon, Wichita with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery,1640 N. Maize Rd, Wichita, KS 67212.
