Mick was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, John E. Hunter, and brother-in-law, Bryan F. Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Hunter) Haugen, his cousin Jeff (Lynette) Wilkerson, mother-in-law Patricia Hunter, sisters-in-law Pam (Bob) Knowles, Erin Kirby, Debra (Mike) Thome, brother-in-law Steve (Judy) Hunter, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Yoshi.
Mick graduated from Collegiate High School and received a BS Degree from the University of Kansas.
Mick began his professional career in banking, then later went on to form his own IT company, Digital Works Consulting.
Mick's creative talents included playing the drums. In 1982, Mick, along with other musicians, formed a band, "The Fabulous Shirtheads", who played 60's, 70's and 80's rock-n-roll music at various venues, including The Coyote Club, The Cotillion and the Wichita Riverfest.
Known for his generosity, wit, humor, kindness, big heart and larger than life personality, Mick had a talent for making everyone feel welcome wherever he went.
A funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N. River Boulevard, Wichita, KS on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12 noon, with the Reverend Peter Jacobson, STS presiding. Family visitation will precede the service from 11am to 12PM, with the final committal at Lakeview Columbarium, 12100 E. 13th Street N, immediately after the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mick's name to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and/or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
