Melvin E. Yorgensen

Yorgensen, Melvin E., 90, of Gridley, Kansas passed away on Sunday May 24, 2020 in Burlington, Kansas. Melvin was born the son of Earl and Malinda Yorgensen on August 19, 1929 in Bennington, Kansas. Melvin and Ramona Yorgensen were united in marriage on June 19, 1949 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Melvin served in the United States Marines during WWII. Melvin and his wife traveled around the United States and Canada for 20 years. For 10 years, Melvin and his wife owned M&R Toy Shop in Newton, Kansas, all toys were hand made and hand painted. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Ernest, sister; Donna, son; Glenn Yorgensen, grandsons; Brandon, Damon and Dustin Yorgensen. Survivors include his loving wife; Ramona Yorgensen, son; Lyle Yorgensen, grandchildren; Jennifer, Kendra, Rebecca and Shawn and 10 great-grandchildren. To honor Melvin's wishes a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Coffey County Cancer Support Group, 815 Kennedy St., Burlington, KS 66839.
