Mary M. Wood

Mary M. Wood., 83 passed away March 7, 2014 at Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, KS. She was born December 4, 1930 to William S. and Thelma E. (Orr) Grunder in Sedgwick County. Mary graduated from Cassoday Rural High School in May of 1949 and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked until her retirement in September 1985. She married William D. Wood on July 1952 and lived in Wichita, KS until March of 2012. Mary loved making friends at the Orchard Park Senior Center here in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Grunder, her husband William D. Wood, her son Gary and a brother James J. Grunder. She is survived by her son, Wesley E. Wood of Wichita, granddaughter, Courtney Wood of Louisiana, two brothers, Donald (Tonnie) Grunder of El Dorado, Carl (Susan) Grunder of Cassoday, a sister, Novale (Don) Miller of El Dorado and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service 2p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Home West. Follow by Inurnment at Resthaven Garden of Memory.
