Marsha was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 1, 1951, to Bill and Violet (Kennedy) Cook and was the
second-oldest of nine siblings. She grew up in Kansas and Oregon and graduated from Estacada Union
High School in 1969. Marsha married Thomas Brooks, the love of her life, on March 3, 1972, and joined
him during his deployment with the Air Force to Italy and California. Marsha was devoted to caring for
her family and those around her and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Marsha co-owned a cake shop with multiple locations in Wichita and was a renowned cake decorator.
She also was a real estate investor and enjoyed home improvement and managing properties.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Thomas Brooks; children Tony Brooks (Gretchen) of Denver,
Colorado and Melissa Cotner of Park City, Kansas; siblings Julie Current, Theresa Leslie (Kerry), Angy Jost
(Kevin), Sandy Stucky (Laverne), Sherry Youngs (Randy), Karen Goossen (Keith), Loretta Cook, and Bill
Cook (Annette); grandchildren Tyler Cotner, Dillon Cotner, Spencer Cotner, Isabelle Brooks, and Justin
Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Gene Current.
