Marjorie A. Wilson

Marjorie married Richard Wilson on July 24, 1965. Together they had two children Chris and Sara.

Marj worked for Pizza Hut Inc. for 31 years. After a brief stint in New Hampshire as an area manager, 1979-1980, she returned to Wichita and excelled in the marketing department. During her long career at Pizza Hut, she accomplished a great deal, working on many successful campaigns. Upon her retirement in 1999, she was able to spend much more time with her grandchildren, and pursue her other hobby- shopping!

An avid traveler, she and Richard traveled overseas on 2 occasions, creating wonderful memories for them both. After Richard’s passing, she was able to enjoy quite a few trips with friends and family, including several trips to Disney World.

Marj was also extremely committed to volunteer work. She spent time at the Lord's Diner, the Derby Senior Center, as well as delivering Meals on Wheels. One of her favorites was reading stories to elementary school students at Derby Public Schools.

As a testament to her generous nature, Marj donated considerably to many different charitable organizations. Her generosity extended to family and friends, especially to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She is survived by two children Chris (Nina) Wilson, Sara (Mark) Stang; one step-son Richard (Debbie) Wilson Jr.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 25, 2023 at 1pm at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Hospice.
