Margie, 94, of Rose Hill, Kansas, passed away December 7, 2016.
Born in Tunnelton, WV, daughter of Homer and Ollie Bolyard, she was one of 8 children. After graduating high school Margie went to Hagerstown, MD and worked for Fairchild Aircraft as an assembly worker/riverter on the C-82 Cargo airplane. Margie met and fell in love with Marine Corps Master Sergeant Boyce D. Stinson, they were married after Boyce was discharged from the Marines. They moved to Buffalo, OK and Boyce opened a restaurant. Margie was well known for the pies she baked for the restaurant. After Boyce successfully ran for the office of State Representative, he moved the family to Oklahoma City in 1951 and when his term was over, they moved back to Buffalo where Margie was a clerk for TG&Y Company and Boyce was County Treasurer. She was a member of the Eastern Star. After moving to Wichita, KS in 1955, Margie transferred to a Wichita TG&Y where she worked until she retired in 1973. She was always interested in crafts, especially flower arranging and making arrangements for the holidays. She loved to garden and raised many varieties of iris in her Riverside home. She is survived by her sister, Mary Powell, of Morgantown, WV, brother Carlos of Kenosha, WI, brother Blane Bolyard of Kingsport, TN, son Rick and daughter-in-law Linda Stinson of Wichita, KS, grandson Marc and grand-daughter in law Lisa Stinson of Andover, KS, great-grandchildren Cole and Kyra Stinson, 27 nieces and nephews, and many, many cousins. Services at Lakeview Mausoleum, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 10:30am, with Chaplain Tal Tittsworth officiating. A memorial in Margie's name has been established with Good Shepherd Hospice.
