She was born in Arkansas and moved with her family to Wichita, Kansas where she met Lyle, the love of her life. They were married in 1951 and raised two daughters, Zenda and Roxan.
One day, walking into church, Margie fell, thus began trouble in her back that continued for the rest of her life. Even with this, she and Lyle loved to care for their home and acreage. She created flowerbeds that would have shown well at any exhibit and Lyle single handedly built his dream workshop.
Margie was known for her quiet demeanor, yet helpful ways and Lyle for his great laughs and friendly ways. Each carried a strong creative spirit and together, they enjoyed many things including birds, therefore Lyle used his skills and created the many alluring birdhouses placed around their land. He not only built those, but also beautiful wood furniture and jewelry from rocks while Margie sewed, embroidered, created ceramics, and kept their house well.
Lyle's talents didn't end there as he did framing and generally fixed or repaired anything...literally and if you are fortunate, you are blessed to have some of their creations.
A service to remember both Lyle and Margie will be Monday, March 20, 2023. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m., both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Wichita.
