Veronica Dura nt (Gillespie) was born March 1, 1917 to 14 yr old Katie-Violet Durant,  a mothers helper on Gillespie farm in.Bear Valley, WI   SHE was from Durant family in Shieldslake, IL (now Lake Cty, IL.   The Gillespie mother helped deliver Katie's baby and decided to keep her. Mrs. Gillespie had 2 daughters age 3 & 1. Her first daughter was stillborn.  The Durant baby was renamed  Veronica  Eileen Gillespie.  By age 19.Katie found Kurt Wendt and they married and lived in South Dakota and Wichita, KS.  Kurt passed In 1960  and buried in Wichita, KS.  Little Veronica had met George Carroll sr in Milwaukee, WI and they had 1 daughter Rosie in 1946 by c-section.  At 52 in 1969 Veronica passed of bad heart. They are buried in Reedsburg, WI.  George passed in 1964. They had 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren,  and 2 great great grandchildren Declan is 6, (may 1, 2015) and Simone Alexis now 1,(born Jan 27, 2021).  All are in Calfornia.   Grandma Gillespie passed in.1977 at 88 yrs 0f age.   Granma Katie-Violet passed in later 1990's. Prayers for all resting in the Lord's peace & happiness!!

We loved Luella.  She was so much fun to be around.  I loved babysitting Steve when they lived in Salina, Kansas.  Also, love her daughter who married my nephew.  Wonderful that we know we ll see her one day.

Luella was a wonderful friend when we lived in Wichita.  I loved her and her family.  I know she will be greatly missed by all.

Many fun memories of a wonderful woman  who had a very full life and impacted many lives for the kingdom of Christ!

Mrs. Switzer-Franklin was a special lady! I was privileged to assist her in her classroom one year … she was amazing with the young ones and such an inspiration to me and I am blessed to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with all her family during this time.

Tami, my heart goes out to you, with the knowledge of your mothers passing. May God give you the strength you need to see life as a true gift, to treasure here, and later in our true home, together with those we have loved so deeply here on earth.

Thank you Auntie for such great memories and for neat cousins.  My fondest memories of my childhood are of you and your family.  You will always remain in my heart.  LOVE you, Ron,  Mike, Kathy, and Steve and miss being with you.

I just want to say, that I was so very much blessed to have known one of the kindest, most caring and one of the greatest Christian women I could have ever known. My third mother-in-law who treated me more like a son then a son-in- law. I will miss her witty seance of humor. She blessed my life, and one day i will see that little smile of her's again. Heavens light got alittle brighter when she left us.  Thank you GOD for that gift. My love too all of my family.

Mrs. Switzer-Franklin was one of a kind. A very sweet lady who will be missed by her family. May God, hold each and everyone of you in his arms of comfort.
