Lorraine Marie Johnson, 93, died on December 6, 2020, after a long-term illness, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS. She was born on September 1, 1927, in Saginaw, Michigan to William and Marie (Krueger) Thon. In 1951, while traveling through Wichita, she met Ursa "Buck" Johnson at The Cowboy Inn. He asked her for a dance and later to marry him, which she did on November 24, 1951. They continued to dance together throughout the years. They built their house in Haysville and raised two children, Rebecca Johnson Richardson and Dennis Elton Johnson. Lorraine and Buck loved camping and fishing. She particularly loved being in the woods and mountains. She also enjoyed gardening, telling jokes, and especially playing poker and going to the casino. She fed the squirrels and birds, which kept her yard full of life. She will be missed terribly. She had a heart the size of the Grand Canyon and has left a hole that same size in ours. Lorraine is predeceased by her parents, her three siblings, and husband Buck Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Richardson, Son, Dennis Johnson, Grandson, Denny Seiber, Granddaughter, Megan Burtch, Grandson, Brian Richardson, Granddaughter-in-law, Katie Richardson, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
