She was employed nearly 20 years at Sears Service Center. She retired as a special ed para from USD259 at the age of 75.
Libby is remembered as being loving, caring, feisty and fun. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandkids were her life. After work, she would take lots of time to spend with her grandkids. She would play outside with them, enjoying catch, frisbee, hopscotch, sidewalk chalk art or a game of jacks. She loved gardening and flowers (especially roses), and loved the simple pleasures of the outdoors like a good walk. In fact, she walked two miles each day until she no longer could, and many of those walks she took with her grandkids. She loved the ocean and God, and found both brought peace to her heart.
When her kids were younger, she did oil painting. And as much as she enjoyed that, she worked hard to support her family, and wasn't able to continue her love of painting. Even so, her kids and grandkids remember her devotion and talent through all of her art tips and tricks. She was a single mom, which is a huge job in and of itself. And she instilled a work ethic, and love of family in all of her children.
In her alone time, she loved shopping and watching TV. She loved chocolate, and would refer to it as "chocolát!" She enjoyed the finer things in life. And she loved a good meal, but would never gain a pound. It was her humble bragging right to be able to enjoy a buffet and not gain an ounce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and many extended family members.
She is survived by her children Cheryl Denise (Bruce) Wood, and Victor (Tammi) Bono; her grandchildren, Rob, Jake, Chloe, Sophia, Alexus, Autumn, and Angelica; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
