Robbins, Leslie J., 88, born Oct. 9, 1926 in Gainesville, Missouri in the heart of the Ozarks went to be with the Lord on Sept. 13, 2015. He was married to Versia Clayton for 66 years. They had two sons, James L. Robbins of Tallahassee, FL, Randy J. (Cindy) Robbins of Titusville, FL and daughter, Connie L. (Bruce) Scherer. He is also survived by twin sister, Lessie Pierce, MO, sister, Mary Lou Snelson, MO, and brother, Bobby Robbins, MO; grandchildren, Ashley, Sharon, Jesse, Peter, Bethany, Noah, Taylor and great grandchildren, Lakyn and Jessie. Les was a WWII veteran, had a successful career in the aircraft industry with Boeing, and worked with NASA on the rockets which took man to the moon. He had a love for bowling and Triumph sports cars. Larry Hatterberg featured Les on an episode of Hatterberg’s People. Viewing is 5 to 7 Thursday at Resthaven Mortuary. His funeral will be at 1:00 pm Friday, Sept. 18 at Colonial Heights Assembly of God Church, 5200 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS.
