LaVona Marie Hepner

Hepner, LaVona Marie, 61, of Wichita, KS, passed away Thurs. April 21, 2016 in Wichita. LaVona was born on Dec. 15, 1954 in Seattle, WA, the daughter of Emil and Virginia Havel. LaVona served as a caregiver for her grandson Wesley. She had a passion for art, drawing, and writing. She loved music, dancing, and playing a game of pool. In LaVona’s younger years she was an avid swimmer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncles, Ferne and Rudy Havel, Ray Havel, Bonnie King, Sonny King, Jack King, and many cousins. Survivors include her loving daughters, Stacy (Wes) Rogers of Mount Hope, KS, Tamber (companion Jason) Hepner of Wichita, grandchildren, Brandon Guilles of Wichita, Wesley and Vaughn Rogers of Mount Hope. Visitation will be on Wed. April 27, 2016 from 1 to 2pm with funeral services at 2pm both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market St., Wichita or Riverlawn Christian Church, 4243 N. Meridian Ave., Wichita.
