Laura Hubbard, 90, won her battle with Alzheimer’s and graduated into Heaven on Sunday, September 29, 2013. She was in the accounting department at Beech Aircraft for 8 years and an office manager for Delivery Service Company for 20 plus years.
Laura led a very active life. She was a pilot, expert seamstress and athlete. She sewed for her family, church and friends. She was a star on the Beechcraft Flyerettes Basketball Team. She enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, golf and bowling. She was a voracious reader and worked crossword puzzles with a pen. She was active with the church choir and volunteered as a music librarian. She remained gracious and patient even as she struggled with Alzheimer’s.
She is survived by her husband, Harold “Hub” Hubbard of Wichita; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Karen Hubbard of Wichita; grandchildren, Kayla (Jared) Kennedy and Kevin Hubbard; great grandchildren, Jace and Brie Kennedy; foster daughter, Elsie (Richard) Peetoom, of Wichita.
Viewing from 12-8pm with family present from 6-7pm, Tuesday, October 1, 2013, DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Funeral service 10a.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Metropolitan Baptist Church.
