KD lived next door to my mother and he worked with my dad Harlan Groves.  He was a very kind gentleman and he will be missed.

I met K.D. during rookie school, fall of 1957. He was an easy man to admire.

I met KD in 1972, I was only 20 yrs old.  He had grown up with my father, who knew him, but had not seen him in many years.  When I told my father I was applying to the police dept as a dispatcher, he told me about KD, and said he didn't know if KD was there or not anymore, but if I ran into him say "hi".  I interviewed for S.P.I.D.E.R. with Capt Steve Dewey, who said I needed the approval of the records Captain.  I walked into his office and was introduced.  He looked at me funny and said, "where are you from".  I said, "Kiowa, KS", he said, "who is your father", and I said "Vane Lawson".  He smiled at me, I looked down at his desk and it said, "Captain KD Yock".  From that moment on he had a great influence in my life for many years, and I owe him for helping me start my law enforcement career.  I ran into him a few times after he retired, I always thought the world of him, he was a good and gracious man.  He will be missed, and I will always think fondly of him and how he affected my life.

I first met K D on August 16th, 1957, my first night on the street as a police officer. I rode with him many times during my training period and later came to know him very well. He had the best temperament of any police officer I ever knew. He was always a gentleman of the highest order. Rest in peace my friend....

Worked with Konrad in the late 50's thru mid 60's, He always had a smile on his face, and he brought calm and reason to every situation. A truly nice man. I wish his family peace.

KD was a good family friend.  Him and my Dad had some good times together.  Rest in peace.

One of the nicest people I ever knew. Was always friendly, polite, and easy going.My first night on the street, I rode with him.
