Dennett, Kenneth Leon, 82, died Dec. 8, 2013. Kenneth was born Dec. 30, 1930 in Wichita, KS to C.A. and Clara (Allen) Dennett. He graduated from Maize High School in 1948 and served in US Army as a Heavy Equipment Operator for almost 3 years during the Korean War. He retired from State of Kansas Dept. of Transportation in 1982 where he was employed for 38 years as a Radio Technician. Kenneth loved family time and sports including coaching kid’s sport teams, camping and fishing activities, tinkering and fixing everything, and riding motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his children, Aaron Ray and Mike Allen Dennett; brother, Lloyd Dennett and his parents. His survivors are wife of 54 years, Betty A. of Valley Center; children, Mark (Sheryl) Dennett of Valley Center, Marcia (Steve) Slack of Wichita; grandchildren, Alden (Baylei) Slack, Matthew Dennett, Audrey (Austin) Kessinger, Andrew Dennett and Rachel Dennett; brothers, Clifford and Duaine Dennett and sister, Phyllis Gray. Funeral service is 10:30 am Thursday, Dec. 12 at First United Methodist Church in Valley Center. Memorials may be sent to Valley Cente United Methodist Church.
