Ulmen, Kara J. (Fox), 50 years young passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 after a struggle with autoimmune disease that destroyed her liver and necessitated a liver transplant May 2, 2014 at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Complications from the transplanted liver arose mid-July and she was hospitalized at KU Medical Center until her passing awaiting another chance for a second transplant. Kara was born Sept. 22, 1963 in Wichita, KS where she spent her entire life. She graduated from Goddard High School and Friends University receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Kara love to cook and really enjoyed the outdoors. She influenced many young lives as an Adult Boy Scout Leader for many years in conjunction with her son’s progression throughout the ranks of scouting helping him achieve the ultimate rank of Eagle Scout. She was a dedicated employee of Meritrust Credit Union for many years where most recently she held the title of Consumer Loan Officer. Kara was preceded in death by her father Wayne Fox. She will be greatly missed by those that survive her: husband of 25 years Tim Ulmen, son Thomas (TJ), daughter Emily, her mother Karen Fox, great grandmother Janet Bailey, her brothers Steven Fox (Rhonda) and John Fox (Jacque) all of Wichita.
