Joseph P. Knoettgen, 92, retired Farmer’s Insurance Group salesman and WWII veteran, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born March 19, 1920 in Salina, Kansas to Matthew and Stella Mae (Dolan) Knoettgen.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (Burns); brother, Harold; sisters, Stella Mae, Norma and Melba.
He is survived by sons, Joseph Philip (Suzanne) Knoettgen of Cheyenne, WY, Michael (Tracy) Knoettgen of Wichita, KS, Robert Knoettgen of Topeka, KS; daughters, Carole Minton of Jonesboro, AR, Mary Gregory of Bonner Springs, KS, Lori (Mark) Hoover of Carmel, IN; brother, Kenneth Knoettgen of Caledonia, OH ; sister, Maxine (Art) Junger of Medicine Lodge, KS; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Joe was a kind hearted man, enjoyed family trips, was an avid golfer, and a member of church organizations like Harvest House and Knights of Columbus.
Rosary 7pm, Friday, DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Service 10am, Saturday, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
