Williams, Rev. John Alvin, born June 17, 1915 in Arapaho, OK passed away September 5, 2012. A retired Presbyterian minister, having served churches in Ellsworth, Kansas; Nebraska City, Nebraska; Britton, South Dakota; and most recently Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, Wichita, Kansas. He served as a Navy chaplain in the Pacific during World War II. He is preceded by wife, Martha Esther Williams and wife, Mona Lee Williams. He is survived by daughter, Martha (Marty) Williams of Wichita, daughter, Nancy Stevens of Baltimore, MD and husband , Q.V. “Steve” Stevens; grandchildren, Wes Watson of Virginia Beach, VA and wife Brenda, Ian Huff and wife Nakaqaki Kanako of Kawasaki Japan; Karin Stevens Luoma and husband Brian of Baltimore, MD; great grandchildren, Kenny and Melinda Watson of Virginia Beach, VA. And Erina Huff of Kawasaki, Japan; brother Charles A. Williams of Akron, OH; sisters, Dorthea Chausse of Sacramento, CA and Catherine Odden of Edina, MN. Graveside service is 10:00 am Saturday, Sept. 7 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
