John William Weber, 36, passed away at his home on August 4, 2024. A public viewing service will be held on Monday, August 12th from 5:30pm – 7:30 pm and a small graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 13th at 9:30 am. Both will be located at Resthaven Mortuary (11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.)
John is survived by his parents, Bret and Valerie Weber, brother Michael (Whitney) Weber and niece Scotland, sister Kristen (Daniel) Leal and nephew Oliver, grandparents Bill and Cindy Weber, James Bonilla, whom he loved like a son, aunts/uncles, cousins, and several others who he loved dearly.
John loved people, and that was reflected in his work as an insurance agent. Prior to that, John worked for a number of years at Starkey International, where he provided care, assistance, and companionship to people with disabilities, which he enjoyed doing as it allowed his loving and caring nature to shine.
Those who knew John know that his presence is not something that is easily forgotten. He was kind, supportive, loving, caring, empathetic, and smart. John was the type of person that brought light into every room he walked into and brightened the spirits of everyone he came across. With his sharp wit, funny banter, and great sense of humor, he had the ability to make everyone around him laugh. It was impossible not to be happy and in good spirits when you were with him.
John had a passion for learning and was always reading, watching documentaries, and doing research on any topic he found interesting. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends, watching sports (especially K-State and Wichita State), and enjoying the simple pleasures of life such as eating good food. Once, after eating two pancakes at a restaurant known for serving pancakes so large most people couldn’t finish even one, the chef actually asked to meet him!
For those close to him, there was absolutely no one else they would rather be with for a day of watching football, listening to his impeccable celebrity impressions, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.
A loyal and caring friend, John maintained many lifelong close friendships with friends from high school, middle school, and even earlier. John loved his friends and his family deeply, and always made a point to tell those close to him that they were loved and appreciated. He was a loving, giving person who would move mountains to make sure he was there for those close to him any time they needed him.
John was truly one of a kind and had many people who loved and cared for him deeply. He had a remarkable presence in the lives of those closest to him, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled. He will live on forever in our hearts and in the many, many wonderful memories he gifted us with.
