He enjoyed fishing, country music and cars. He loved spending time with his family and watching western movies.
John is survived by his children: Harrell Kirk, of Wichita, KS, Glenn Logan of Wichita, KS, Virginia Johnson of Rosehill, KS, Helen Preist of MT Vernon, OH, Peggy Duke of Wichita, KS, Polly Bland of Wichita, KS, James Horton of Maize, KS and Patricia Morris of Wichita, KS; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae (English) Treadway; children: Dave Logan of Wichita, KS, Perry Horton of Wichita, KS, and Rebecca Horton of Wichita, KS; his siblings: Doris Jeffery of Wichita, KS, Billie Rairden of Wichita, KS, Shirley Kobs of San Bernardino, CA, and Helen Coker of Wichita, KS and his parents, Robert E. Treadway and Marie (Moutray) Treadway.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with a graveside service immediately after in the Garden of Bruce Newton, Lot 192D, Space 3. All at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in John's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
