Janet L. (McElroy) Willis, 71, retired from the banking business, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010. Janet was born Jan 30, 1939 in Wichita, KS. Preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Ruth McElroy, sister Margaret Edwards. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Norris Gene Willis; daughters Donna Baird (Rick), Linda Goetz (Brad); sons Scott Willis (Sarah) all of Wichita, and Troy Willis (Melissa), of Mesquite, TX; Sisters Evelyn Lange (Jim), Virginia Vaughan (Vic); twelve grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. She was active in church, devoted to family, always smiled, a friend to all, and she rarely complained, even during her long battle with cancer. God made a beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Now she is home with the Lord and will be missed by all. Visitation will be 1-8 Thurs. Dec 16, at Hillside West, 2929 W 13th, with family present 6-8. Service will be held 10 am Fri, Dec. 17 at Antioch Christian Church, 3741 W 15th. Memorials to Antioch Christian Church and Harry Hynes Hospice.
