Janet Delores Petry

Janet D (Noble) Petry 88, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Survivors: son Gary Petry (Gloria) of Katy, TX; daughter Gale Norby (Jeff) of Buford, GA.; daughter Jo Ellen Rogers of Shawnee, KS. Grandchildren include: Stephanie, Katie, Andrew, Drew, Ethan, Kyle, Mallory, Jamie and 2 great grandchildren: Garrett and Alexis. Janet grew up in Valley Stream, Long Island, N.Y. Janet was a letterwoman of her undefeated varsity field hockey team. She was very active in the USO during WWII. A caring mother, Janet was actively involved in all aspects of her children’s lives. While raising children, she worked as an Administrative Assistant and later volunteered at Venture House feeding the homeless. Janet was a loving friend to all who knew her and as a devoted Christian, she nurtured people throughout her entire life joyfully looking forward to the day she returned to her Savior & Lord. Memorial Service 2p.m. Saturday May 3, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Home West, 2929 W. 13th St. Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Veterans Administration or Harry Hynes Hospice.
